Being a Clinical Psychologist, working mostly in the non-profit sector (including Common Ground where I first met Marsha Zucker), I had been hearing about and referring clients to SPACE programs since the late ’80s. But that was the extent of my knowledge of NCJW until I retired, joined a mah-jong group and was looking for a part time job. After so many years of referring clients to SPACE and hearing all about NCJW from my mah-jong board members, I had to take the chance and apply for the job of coordinator of SPACE. After interviewing with Bev Stone, Susan Gertner and Florence Herrmann I was offered and accepted the position. Now I had the chance to learn about NCJW from the inside and I fell in love! I became a life member and here I am today, a proud board member and treasurer.
