About 10 years ago I decided to retire and sell my business. It was time to spend more time with my family, especially the growing grandchildren in California. My friend, Ina Katz, told me she thought I would enjoy the ladies of National Council of Jewish Women and the work they were doing. I attended a few meetings and it wasn’t long before I found myself co-chair of Programming. I was very lucky in that my co-chair was Sandi Matz, who is our new President. We brought in some new and exciting programs, including Nosh & Knowledge, and the experience was wonderful. Working with Sandi on programming was just a delight. I was hooked! I discovered an amazing, smart, dedicated group of women who give of their time unselfishly.
In the years since that time, I have been involved as co-chair of Women of Vision, Purchasing for the Back2School Store and co-chair of Installation. In addition, there are so many other wonderful programs. One of my favorites is the Backpack Project.
It is a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of volunteers who do such wonderful work with all their projects.
