My Mother and NCJW

As a Board member for the past several years, I have seen first hand the impact of many of the NCJW/GDS programs. I am always amazed at the scope of our projects and the numerous ways in which they impact women and children.

For me, my fondest memory of NCJW centers on phone calls from my mother, of blessed memory. She would call me and excitedly tell me how much she enjoyed an NCJW program in which she and other senior adult women were treated to a day of fun and pleasurable activities. Those afternoons brought her so much joy, joy that I then experienced, knowing that she was part of something special, something that enriched her life. The kindness and caring, offered by Council women to my mother and others like her was something that I know my mother never forgot. And I have never forgotten it either.
