Memories From a Former VP

I have always been a volunteer. Before discovering NCJW, I was active in my Temple and served as President of both the Sisterhood & Married Group . I was involved with ORT and participated in Hadassah activities as well. It wasn’t until my good friend, Linda Bloom, became President of NCJW, that I became involved. I have never met such an inspiring, intelligent and welcoming group of women. I became immediately hooked and since that time, have devoted countless hours to this fabulous organization. I just finished serving 8 years as Vice President. My greatest honor was when I received the Hannah G. Solomon award in 2013.

One of my most important projects is the Jewish Youth Awards. I have seen so many young men and women benefit from this program. My parents, now deceased, also believed that helping deserving students with their continuing education was a necessity. Thus, Esther and Nathan Katz set up an annual gift commitment to this project. Now, my siblings and I are continuing our parents financial support of the Jewish Youth Awards.
