My life changed in more ways than I ever could have imagined on one fateful day some 26 years ago when I boarded a bus to join NCJW-GDS at a pro-choice rally in Lansing. Barbara Grant, then section President, inspired me; I couldn’t wait to learn more. It was that day I met Susan Knoppow, my friend, my sister, my business partner. I have so many fond memories advocating for causes that include NCJW: Abortion rights (programs in Michigan, marches in D.C., and more); All Kids Playground (working on a campaign to help raise funds, buying bricks in memory of my twin sister, Hope); doing a marketing campaign for the NCJW national convention held in Detroit (interviewing recipients of NCJW services to share their stories on huge story boards, displayed during the convention, to showcase the great work done by NCJW-GDS); going to D.C., Chicago, and so many other great places as a representative of NCJW-GDS. I am a life member – always proud!
